Door

I am working on 2113.

Since I started working on the interior and had the doors up for extended
periods of time and open and closing them,  I noticed that the Accesory
Shock on the door (don't know the real name, the little one toward the
front) The mount has cracked or pulled away from the place where it joins
the hood.

What do I need to do to fix this and prevent it from happening.  I plan on
getting a nice paint job once done and want to FIX it right.
