If all you need is the RPM, then it's almost trivial, but the inductive
pickup is probably more convient and accessible to a broader audience.

Hmmm.  I like their inductive pickup hack.  I wonder if there
would be a way to use OBD-2 PC readers to gather similar
"dyno" info...
