Hi everyone,

A friend of mine in Berkeley, Brian Harvey, a professor at Cal, recently
adopted an older child. Heath, the child, is almost 13 years old. His
one true passion is cars. He's young, but he really likes working on
cars. So Brian bought him an old car that needs some work (an '82 El
Camino). Heath is really excited about working on it and Brian hopes
that this will help keep Heath from turning into a TV junkie over the
summer.

The problem is that Brian can't tell a muffler from a spark plug. What
he's looking for is someone with a little bit of time in the general
Oakland/Berkeley area who would like to help Heath work on this Chevy
and act as a mentor and help him learn about cars. During the school
year (which is almost over) it would just be some time on the weekends,
but during the summer it could be as much time as you'd like.

Brian would pay someone a reasonable amount (none of us are sure what is
reasonable, but it would be presumably more than just a token amount)
who was interested in acting as a sort of
backyard-mechanic/mentor/big-brother type. If you or someone you know
might be interested in something like this, Brian would love to hear
from you!

You can reach him either by phone or e-mail, or contact him through me.
Brian's contact info is here:
   Brian Harvey (and Heath)

Thanks so much!

Josh
