I've been using Mother's wheel cleaner with good luck.  It's kind of like a
wax in that your rub it on, let it dry, then buff it off.  Most every mark's
come off my clear coated wheels with minimal effort.  I've found that using
the Mother's car wash soap, on the other hand, has produced pretty poor
results for anything other than basic surface cleaning.
