Road racers are, by necessity, more severely constrained on available
sites. They are also, by the nature of the sport, dealing with higher
income brackets, which in turn are usually associated with more scheduling
flexibility. That is, they are less sensitive to cost, they have (as a
group) more time available, and they are used to traveling all over in
dedicated rigs because that's the way their sport works. Apples and
oranges.

It's 1810 miles from San Francisco to Topeka, 1864 from Seattle.
It's 2335 miles from San Francisco to Birminghan. That's 1050 miles
further, round trip.

It's only 865 miles from Atlanta to Topeka, . I'm glad to see that y'all
have no problem with West Coast members facing a drive/tow almost THREE
times further than that.

Population center numbers aren't relevant because they don't address the
situation. If we were all sharing communal costs for travel, they would,
but the reality is that travel to Nationals is a member by member
individual requirement of time and money. That burden should fall as
evenly as is feasible.
