It won't hurt your engine provided you change the oil after a couple
hours of running. Generally 1/2 to 1 full season. The synthetic oil
will hold up, and the 1-2 hours of run time on an oil change will not
hurt it. Actually you can probably go much longer since it is a
synthetic, but I always try to side on the conservative. I have not
used Valvoline products (in the race car) but I have used non/low
detergent oils with no observable problems.
