Hi Russ and all:

I want to add my thanks to Bob and Judy for insuring that all of us who
attended the Invasion at Dillard had an enjoyable event. The accomodations
were great - so was the food - and the scenic beauty of the area was so
impressive - especially for those of us who qualify as "flatlanders".

Ol'Blue, the '67 Alpine demonstrated very clearly that a 35 year old vehicle
can easily handle a 2800 mile round trip with 70-75 mph speeds on interstate
highways. The 5 speed tranny proved invaluable! We averaged about 29.5 mpg
for the trip. Oil consumption - 1 pint.

The Alpine with the Ford engine also proved to be reliable and very
driveable on the return trip. My wife enjoyed the AC comfort and the
ability to "blow by" cars/triucks/busses at will.
We did have to replace a front wheel bearing when we got back to South
Dakota - other than that, the car performed flawlessly.

So - Bob and Judy - thanks again! Susan and I greatly appreciated the
Invasion.

from sunny South Dakota,

Paul

Sorry to the rest of the Alpine list that didn't attend the SAOCA Invasion
in
Dillard GA. But I wanted to thank Bob, his wife Judy, and anyone else that
assisted Bob in putting together a very nice "Sunbeam" weekend. I really
enjoyed myself even though I was unable to bring a Sunbeam. Thanks to Jim
Ellis for the ride in his Alpine, and thanks to Ed for the offer, your
company
and your kindness won't be forgotten. I know you are having sellers remorse
after selling your Alger but I'm sure it went to a very god home and will
given a lot of TLC. I would have posted this sooner Bob but we were without
email address's for awhile, we had to buy a new computer. Thanks.
Russ
