Ryan,
You don't want to use silicone at all (except for some of the better
gasket sealers). You want to use on the fender well gaps, about 3 tubes
of 3M "Ultrapro" Sealant #08300. The heater core access plate (that also
functions as the hood release) did not have any sealer. There is a paper
gasket there that came from the factory. You can make one from some
gasket material. The only other areas that had seam sealer was inside
the passenger area on the floor pans and in the trunk floors.
