If I recall correctly (and that gets more difficult each year) the item
described as a "flame Trap" on my 1970 TR 6 is a hollow round metal container
about the diameter of a silver dollar one half inch thick that goes between the
vent pipe on the valve cover and the carbs. It has a hole for the hose one on
the bottom of the canister on the valve cover side and the other on the top of
this canister on the carb side. The hose connecting all this then goes to the
suction ports for the valve cover which is on the sides of the ZS carbs and on
to the charcoal canister. It's so smallthat it's not connected to anything
except the two hoses. Seems like much ado about nothing-Flame Trap wise.
