Hi Bruce,

There are a number of different things you can do in terms of balance.

If you wanted to balance your engine - this is often done during a blueprinted
rebuild, then yes, you balance the flywheel/clutch assy with the rest of your
engine. However, if you are not rebuilding your bottom end, then you can have
your flywheel / pressure plate assy balanced. This should be done whenever you
change your pressure plate and have your flywheel resurfaced.

Bolt your pressure plate to the flywheel and take it to your machine shop. I
would ask if they have done the triumph flywheel balance before. Because they
are going to need to mount the flywheel somehow (this is a dynamic balance).
The hole in the center of the flywheel has a lip that holds your pilot bushing
in place. You want to be sure that the way the shop intends to mount the
flywheel will not damage that lip.
