I am the happy owner of one of Sal's supercharger kits that I just
installed. It combines the best of both situations, great idle and
outstanding performance. You can't tell you are running a supercharged TR6
until you put your foot in it, then it goes like a bat out of hell. I
installed a boost gauge with my supercharger on a completely stock 74 (with
overdrive). As long as I go easy on the gas pedal and keep it operating
under normal vacuum, my 6 sounds and acts like a stock 74. But when I step
on it and the boost kicks in (instantaneously), the tell tale wine of the
supercharger lets others know what you can feel, lots of get up and go. I
haven't had the chance to compare performance numbers that I took prior to
the modification, but I will get them soon and report back.
The kit was easy to install and I can put my stock setup back on in a matter
of a couple of hours, but I don't see that happening.
This is a great upgrade.
