Hi,

I installed one of the first sets of the new green hoses from TRF. I got
them back in '94. I ran the hoses on the car for 6 years and they worked
fine, no problems. The color was excellent for at least the first five
years, and I put about 30k miles on the car, maybe a bit more.

When I replaced them (last winter), the hoses looked as though they were 8
years old. The ends started cracking and the hoses were "swelled" a little
bit. To be honest, 8 years is approaching the upper limit of any hose
life, so I was not dissapointed with these hoses at all.

The more operative question to you is - what do you want to do with your
car? If your goal is real concours, then your question is moot - get the
green hoses. If your goal is to use your car as a driver and enter the
occasional car show, then the green hoses are pretty much overkill.

There is only one supplier of new green hoses - TRF. There may still be
NOS green hoses out there, but you'll have to seek out the specialists who
still have stashes of NOS stuff. It will cost you $$$ to do this, but if
concours is what you want, you can't beat NOS. The TRF green hoses are
good if you can't find real NOS.

regards,
rml
