Go with metal!!!!! Who cares what's original. Plastic will break. Make sure
you get the right clips for your car as the early TR's had a thinner Stainless
trim piece.

on my 76 TR6 and the clips on the car are white square plastic. The
moss clips I was sent are round metal disks on a pop rivet. Which are
correct?(Not that it matters all that much:)
