There's nothing wrong with the transmission.
It's the clutch. And this is a common problem on TR6s.
There are several ways to fix it.
But first:
Bleed the clutch system and make sure both cylinders are working perfectly.
Next:
Check both clevis pins, on the pedal and on the side of the transmission. If
they are worn and have ridges, you are losing valuable action. Replace them.
Next: To push the slave cylinder closer to the gearbox, place seven washers
on each mounting bolt on the slave cylinder bracket.
If all this fails, you'll have to pull the transmission and replace the
clutch , pressure plate and throwout bearing. I would use the Roadster
Factory's Magic Clutch kit. I have this in my car and the thing shifts as
smooth as a Toyota. British Parts Northwest has a similar clutch system for
less money.
