Well said Dan! I used to frown on engine swaps, but I've come around.
I probably won't ever do one in my car, but that's just my personal
preference. I do, however, plan to do EFI, and maybe a supercharger
some day. Some may find this just as offensive as putting an American
V8 in the car. To those people, I would just like to say that, if
you're worried about damaging the resale value of the car, find another
excuse. As someone on the list once said, these aren't Aston Martins
or Rolls Royces, they're Triumphs. There's tons of them out there, and
they're never going to be worth (market value) what most of us end up
putting into them. So just have fun and do what you like!

True, but as an owner of a 2000 Honda Civic Si, I can tell you that
8000 rpm out of that 1.6L 100hp/liter engine is a wonderful sound, and
feeling/hearing the cams switch at 5500 rpm is amazing! On the other
hand, feeling the utter lack of ANY power when putting my foot down at
3000rpm in the Civic makes me yurn for the TR6. Best of both worlds I
guess!
Oh, and by the way, I (and many others, I'm sure) appreciate all the
things you are doing, Dan, to help the rest of us in the hobby. You're
electrical guide and article on upgrading the electrical system in our
TR6's are excellent, and have been a real help to me. Thanks!
