Afraid not. The Last Open Road wasn't published in 1964 :P
The book Charlie is referring to is about a red MG TC which unfortunately
ends up meeting a poor fate I believe, when the driver over ambitiously
rounds a corner only to throw it off a cliff. It is a children's book.
I believe if you check the archives, but for the MG List (also at
listquest.com ) you'll find your answer with some creative searching.
The Last Open Road was an okay book, the characters' diction became annoying
shortly after beginning to read it... I haven't read Montezemelo's Ferrari
or whatever the sequel is titled. Perhaps I'll see if the library has it.
