Hi Folks, I am looking for anyone who has done a ka24e swap into a roadster so I can learn as much as possible before I try this. If you have done this and have a spare moment, please let me know. Th

Why are you going with a KA24e and not the SR20DE. Michael Spreadbury had a really amazing transplant at Shasta this year. He had to notch the front cross member a bit but the install looked stock.

Over the years I have read quite a number of references to engine transplants for which the front cross member had to be notched "a bit". how much is "a bit" and isn't anyone concerned with weakening

On Mikes car I would say the notch was less than an inch deep and this was just to insure clearance with the front part of the engine. The notch is just wide enough to fit the engine in. And yes thi

A lot depends upon where the notch is located as well as how big it is. Reducing the section of a stressed member near the outer edges is BAD, reducing the section nearer the center than the ends, wh

The SR20DE is used in rear drive cars in Japan only. But there does not appear to be any shortages of them in the states? Daniel 69 2000 SF CA /// datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net mailing list

For that matter, go with an SR20DET - 200hp stock, with lots more potential. Trouble is, this engine is only found on Japanese cars in a rear wheel drive configuration. Same with the SR20DE. Sylvias

I looked into the SR20DE for my custom. It does come from Japan and easy to get. But cost was a factor for me. All said and done it would have been about $3000.00 - motor, trans, electronics, shippin

HI John, I've heard much larger numbers for a good running stock SR20DET lilke 260hp. There is also cost and complexity. A SR20DET will cost like $2500 instead of the ~$1000 for the DE. THe turbo req
