- If you haven't seen the 1950 Autocar review of the TD, it makes for a good read. Evidently they saw no problem with cruising at 70 and running the engine up to 6000 rpm! http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgtd

- Thanks for pointing us to the Auto Car report on the TD. I have long maintained that 4200 RPM (where our TD spends most of it's time cruising) is harder on today's driver's nerves than on the car. I

- Is there somewhere this magical number of 2500 ft / min came from? I've heard it quoted often, but never the source. With a 3.49" stroke, 2500 ft / min is the average speed, if the piston through it'
