I really have no opinion on the pre-stage lights. In effect, there are not needed. What would be some of the reasons (other than the obligatory "Change is Bad") that people would NEED them? With the

In most professional drag racing circles, and minor draggin as well, the PS light is more a courtesy to let the other lane know you're ready. One lane will PS, wait for the other lane to PS, then the

Most of this doesn't apply to Pro Solo. There is a 25 second 'shot clock' that gives the drivers time to stage. When the timer runs out, both drivers are expected to be fully staged. 3-5 seconds late

As a lifelong dragracer I feel compelled to comment on the staging issue here. The prestage light has a couple of functions, one of which was already mentioned: letting the competitor know that you a

Thanks to all the drag racers out there who are weighing in on this issue. We should be renting the strip at the Virginia Motorsports Park at this Pro anyway... However...Pro Solo lights and protocol

Common misconception. Yes, the time at the strip doesn't start until the light beam is broken, but the first one to the end of the strip still wins, regardless of E.T. If all you care about is your E

Well, probably not entirely necessary, but surely is a big convenience. I know the few times that I have rolled into the staging beam too deeply, it has been a real bite to put the car in reverse, b

Those facts are well known. Most of the autoxers go on "Grudge Nights" when they are just running for personal ET's. Real racers don't care as much about ET's as they do about being the first ones to
