There are several options now a days. Hylomar is tested but some people don't like it. Yamaha puts out a product called Yammabond #4 which is more forgiving (will take up more crevices and seal more

The "right" stuff is probably something like aviation permatex or hylomar. However, given my recent very good experience with this new Permatex product, I would highly recommend "The Right Stuff" for

Ah, VW cases. That makes me think that the right stuff is the product from Permatex tht we call "virgin's blood" around the shop ... But I can't find any so I can't tell you what it's official name.
