Faithfull in every last detail ! I can remember a Jenks fable about a fellow buying a kit of parts for a Buggati 35 with good history, restoring it a bit at a time with some sensible mods for racing

Don't know of Lotus 30 replica, but there is a pretty good Lotus 23 replica out there (there are or were two, but one is being imported into the US). I can find contact info if anyone is interested.

If you wanted to do an accurate replica, you would need to put a set of hinges in the middle of the chassis ;>). A friend of mine drove a 30 at the Road America 500 and said it felt positively deadly

I browsed Anthony Pritchard's "Lotus: the sports racing cars" for more about the 30/40 and ran across the reference to Chapman's disagreement with chief designer (at the time) Len Terry over the back
