Could he be referring to the "Naval Jelly" type products that leave a gray phosphate coating behind? Might work OK if you were careful to keep a coat of wax over it. You should be able to buy Naval J

Hi Randall, Thanks for the input. Maybe Jay Lamm was referring to Naval Jelly, but his description (see below) makes me think not. The only stuff I ever used (pink bottle) dries to a non-uniform grey
