If this is the smae type I used to have, which your description sounds like, there are 2 dirve blets, one form the engien to a center pulley, and a second one form the center pulley to the transaxle.

First thing to check is there is a little flapper valve inside the plate where that hose attaches to the block. If it's broken or gummed up it will pump a lot of oil. If not you need a rebuild. -- Jo
