Your friend is wrong, but almost right. There is only one fill for the gearbox / OD. HOWEVER.... the gearbox and OD do in fact have seperate oil drain plugs. maybe this is what he's trying to say. R

Do not ever use bolts that are too long to secure your shocks. Not only will your shocks wear out, but you could stress the shock mounting plate as well, which you don't want to do... trust me $$$$.

I rebuilt my BJ8 motor as a novice 15 years ago and 80,000 miles ago. The engine is still going strong, doesn't burn any oil... great compression. Before that I had never even dismantled a motor...
