Is there a handy dandy trick to removing and replacing the throwout bearing onto its carrier (using stone knives and bear skins, of course). Would I be advised to have a shop do the replacing? -Still

I do them in a big vise. I find a socket that fits inside the bearing to push on the sleeve and a couple of blocks to hold the bearing from the other side. I have always been able to push them apart

It's easy to do at home providing you have a bearing seperator or some sheet steel/aluminum, some large sockets and a vice. I open the bearing seperator and place it between the bearing and the sleev
