Seeing the pics of the radically lowered car, I came up with an idea. I have seen that lowering blocks are the method of choice for lowering the rear of the car, but up front there are other options.

Well, the answer to your questions are kinda convoluted. The change to the rear axle occurred with the 1967.5 models. The brake drums changed to the aluminum finned units. The torque strut was added.
