IMO On fixed venturi carberators the smaller the engine size the larger the jet size, so I am not supprised by the richer needle for the 2L -- Philip Erickson

This is the control wire and is there to keep the fan from running down the battery when you are parked. I wired mine straight to the batt. for now. The control wire on many cars is to unswitched 12v

The "1300" is based on the MGA-MGB engine. There are lots of MG's running around with "1300" Datsun rockers assemblies. We used to buy the parts from Nissian for less than the shaft from MG.-> ;- ) I

I can't remember if the stroke is shorter, but the bore is smaller than the BMC engine. The J-13 Head has smaller valves and ports than the BMCs and the heater valve screwed into the head on the J-13
