Hi Ben - I've recently been inside my 5speed, and couldn't help learning a bit about the four speeds at the same time. Reverse (and 5th if so equipped) are on a separate shift fork than 1&2 and 3&4.

Hi Leigh The octane you use is dependent on a number of things, all of which add up to a car's tendency to ping. High compression, high initial advance, sharp spots in the combustion chambers, etc.

Hi Fred I have always wondered if something was up with the Pertronix'esi. My '69 is very on and off - sometimes it pulls like a train till 6000, other times it sputters and shudders at about 4000;
