The shafts where the plunger meets the housing wear if the chain gets too loose.Sometimes a new chain will take this up but its usually too late. You loose oil pressure and get a rattle..... Mike K C

I tried to order synchros for the either the steel type or the brass recently and they came back as NLA. But Nissan can get the brass syncros for the 240z which I assume is the same as the borg type
