- You may also have a sunken float. This happens more with the brass floats. I had it happen within 6 months of putting in 2 new brass floats. One at a time, but both sank. I now have the black plastic

- On the starter problems, remove the starter solenoid from the top of the starter and see if the slug of metal that is inside the coil slides easily. I suspect that it is gummy. Clean it and lube it
