61. Re: Coil Over Spring Rates (score: 1)

I thought a spring is a spring is a spring... so no matter how long or what diameter or what size the spring is, a 166# rate on an OEM spring would compress the same rate as a coil over 166# spring.

Agreed there! I use autox to help improve my driving skills on the road. It would serve no use to drive a different autox car at the limit and then get back on the road with a different car you haven

Making a rule saying you have to use a certain tire wouldn't fly.... that's just way too biased. The reason I run STS is so that I don't have to buy extra tires to autox on!! Limiting the amount of s

This is exactly my complaint. And what's to keep the company from inflating prices on a tire that only autocrossers have interest in? The main advantage of me racing in STS is not having to buy speci

I think using one tire is crazy. I know some cars prefer different tires than others. This is all dependent on suspension, balance, weight, etc... a stiff sidewall might be good for one car, but bad

How does club racing keep Spec tires from having cheaters? I assume there's some way the whole tire manufacture, shipping to reseller, sale, and shipping to customer can be controlled to make sure th

Looking at the RE71 tech page, the 205's are 7.5" wide at the tread, 8.0" overall, the 195's are 7.2" and 7.7", respectively. It's really odd that the 225/55r16 is 7.3" at the tread, 225/50r16 (my s

http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/street_touring_rules.html In Street Touring S (STS), any rim width up to 7.5" is allowable (V. A. 4.). In my opinion, allowing 8" rims would be better for the 225 tire
