- Only dumb questions are those that don't get asked. There are four ways of doing this that I am aware of, with the idea of keeping the crank from turning when applying the removal torque to the bolt

- Jim--You are turning the crankshaft bolt the right way. To keep from "turning the engine over" when removing this bolt, you can use a pipe wrench to hold the pulley extension. It can be done without
