Have you double checked the the carb attachment or intake attachment after your build? sounds like an induction leak. I suppose you have verified that the needle is being drawn up into the pistons(A

Curt--The lifting of the air valve to test for mixture can be deceiving, if you lift too far. Just go 1/16". If the engine doesn't falter you may be OK. If your carbs have the adjustable needles, the
