I have a 1973 tr6 and am rebuilding the transmission; 2 questions: which gear oil shall I use (4spd. non overdrive)? and I am in search for 2nd gear for chasis no. CC 92673. Does that help anyone?

I've tried a lot of oils over the years, and I highly recommend Red Line's "MTL". If you go with more conventional lube, use something that's rated GL4, not GL5. Red Line sells a 80/90 lube that fits

To the best of my knowledge, the gear sets aren't "matched" mainshaft to countershaft except to get the correct gear for the year and type. The tolerances in the TR box aren't nearly that precise. I

Hello James. I've been told by numerous folks that rebuild trannies for a living to keep the gears matched, laygear and main. I don't question the logic of that. I can't comment to that except to say
