Dear listers, all this talk about old racing magazines prompts me to ask a
question that would aid me greatly in my current research on a particular
Ferrari owned by my father since 1960. The car is a 1955 Ferrari 500
Mondial, Series 2 (2 litre, 4 cyl.). The gap in the car's history is
between January 1957 and May 1959. During this period the car was owned by
Charles Hassan of Cincinnati. He raced the car extensively during 1956 at
Elkhart Lake, Lawrenceville (IL), Smartt Field (near St. Louis), Akron,
Sebring and the Nassau Speed Week. There do not seem to be any race results
on the car after 1956 and Mr. Hassan has since passed away. Does anyone
have any recollections/records of this car (which would have been dark blue)
at any of these or other midwest venues during the gap described above?
