Brian, an accusump may serve to feed pressurized oil into the system when the
pump does not pick up oil from the pan, but its primary purpose is to serve as a
preoiler.  It makes more sense to baffle the pan so that the pickup will always
be submerged.  It is not rocket science.  You need a main cross baffle with one
way door to trap oil near the pickup, especially under braking,  and side 
baffles
to keep the oil from running up the sides when you have the car side-losded in a
corner.  John
