I recently called NNJR SCCA and spoke with the Regional Exec about the SCCA
vintage program. He sent me the rule books and, after a quick read, I
interpret them pretty much the same way: if the car wasn't a historic SCCA
racer with a log book, it needs a roll cage. Other requirements don't sound
bad. My bugeye supposedly ran early SCCA, but I don't have the logbook to
prove it. It now has an SVRA logbook. The RE did say I could show up and
they would probably allow me to run the 1 event before they might require
upgrade to a cage. I didn't get an answer on licensing (even though I held an
SCCA National License 25 years ago). Personally, I'd like more assurance
before I invest in joining the program. Think I'll make another phone call to
get more definitive answers. Anyone else have experience with SCCA Vintage?
