FIA rules were (are) published each year in a book called "Year Book of
Automobile Sport". The part that pertains to classificationn, definition and
specifications is "Appendix "J" to the international Sporting Code".
Each country has an central office called the ACN (National Automobile Club).
ACCUS is the US ACN.
Every make and model that raced under FIA rules was required to have a
recognition form on file with the manufacturer's ACN. These "homologation
papers" listed virtually every specification of the standard car, as well as
any racing extras that the manufacterer was alert enough to list.
All sedans, GT cars, and sports cars were covered by these forms. Only
prototypes and formula cars did not need these papers.
The FIA rule books can occaisonally be found at auto flea markets, etc. The
recognition forms may still be available through the appropriate ACN. They
were in effect for a four year period after the production rule was ended.
