I checked a number of books and only Milliken/Milliken have any serious
theoretical consideration and data. I thought Taruffi would have covered
spins, but only has a short section called "Beyond the Limit" on p.92.
Everybody covers understeer/oversteer, and a spin is just terminal
oversteer!
Was the original interest in the vehicle dynamics, practical aspects or ?? I
forget already!
BTW, what was everybody taught to do when you spin? I found three separate
methods in the books! I'm of the "stand on it " group. If I lose it, I stand
on it, spin it to the inside 180-270 and get lined up for reentering the
course. Learned at the Roos School and perfected during a rally school in
the UK.
