Frank,

I=E2=80=99d start with the hose, old ones can flex internally and =
collapse.

=20

Alternatively, your M. Cylinder may have failed and may not be allowing =
the return of fluid on release, I had this happen on a TR6 with one of =
those recalled TRW master cylinders about 10 years ago.

Ma

=20

On cars with an adjustable length master cylinder rod, the rod can be =
too long, preventing the return of fluid =E2=80=93 had this happen on =
Jag XK=E2=80=99s. Getting the rod adjusted perfectly was a PITA.

I didn=E2=80=99t think you used the brakes, anyway!

thanks

i took the drum off 2 weekends ago.

did not see any leakage.

everything looked ok. springs in place, little taby things that hold the =
shoes in place still there.

re-set the adjustment when i put things back.

This happened to me once. It turned out that I had a leaking brake =
cylinder and the friction material on the shoes had become saturated =
with brake fluid. I was surprised to learn that this will cause the =
shoes to lock onto the drum. Check your master cylinder reservoir to =
see if you are losing fluid, then check the brake cylinder on the side =
that=E2=80=99s locking, for signs of leakage.
