It's hard to find a TR3 with a push-pull switch except for show cars; most
have been retrofitted with the rheostat. I can't figure out why, though,
because the dash lights are pretty dim at full power and after the resistor
wire gets a little corroded the dash goes dark every time you hit a bump.
Don't know if the push-pull switch will fit in the d-shaped hole, but if you
find out, let us know.

Thanks to all who replied. The consensus is that a previous owner converted
the car to use a centrally located rheostat (got a panel with the larger,
D-shaped, hole). I need to decide whether to leave alone or go back to the
on-off system.
