I stand corrected! Apparently the TR250 was the 1st to have the
'pull-and-push-to-release' hand brake!

According to TRA's Restoration & Concours guide, the 4A was the last of the
Triumph sports to have the fly off emergency brake. All 4As and prior had it ,
all after had the more mundane "pull and push button to release"
