Michael the convention in NA is based on safety. Back in the day when knife switches were used for large amperage situations they were originally, up is off and down is on. That is until someone was killed replacing stadium lights or some such thing when gravity intervened causing the switch blade to fall and activate the circuit, After that the standard became down = off. |
