I'll confess to limited knowledge of TR6s but would suggest you check
the sending unit. Perhaps a search or a lister can provide the
resistance you should be getting for empty, half-full, full, etc.
I have used a length of copper wire bent into an inverted hook and
inserted thru the filler to operate the float arm and test the
resistance w/o removing the unit from the tank.
