Last I heard, there were only two still making car batteries here, and Exide
was moving their battery manufacture off-shore.

I'm pretty sure Gould moved offshore in the 90's, if they even make car
batteries any more.  Big stink about the mess they left in Trenton, lead in
the soil and all sorts of nasty chemicals stored in rotting barrels in an
abandoned factory.
