When we lived in an old Victorian house in Milwaukee, a rat took up
residence after entering the house through a sewer (yes, really!). It
evidently came into the house through a toilet, stopped and took big bites
out of a bar of soap on the bath tub, then headed for the basement where it
later expired after eating rat poison. The Orkin guy said that rodents will
happily eat soap because of the high fat content of the soap. So, I never
did believe the Irish Spring thang!
