If the rich running is all thats keeping you from the VTR......get out in the 
garage and get to work!
 
It can only be a few things:
 
1)  Float level set wrong or floats not floating.  
 
2)  Debris in the needle / seat
 
3)  Bowl vent blockage (this one got me before).  Remove the air filter 
housing.  Look straight at the mounting flange.  On the upper LH "corner" there 
is a 1/4" hole that needs to be open.  Make sure the gasket on the air filer 
housing for each carb has a matching hole in it.  Also, right above the air 
opening is a rectangular slot (maybe 1/8" X 3/4").  Make sure it is open too.
 
4)  Chokes assembled / adjusted improperly.
 
You're looking at an hour tops!  Get on it and get to the show!
 
I drove my '74 TR6 (body off-frame resto w/ just a few miles on it) from 
Oklahoma to VTR in Pennsylvania last year!  No guts, no glory!!
