Thanks to Bud, Randall, and Chad for replies thus far...
One more piece of the puzzle - I didn't have the gas-in-the-oil problem until I
filled the tank for the first time. I think it has to do with the level of the
fuel vs the height of the carbs. Car is on a level garage floor.
I think if the source was the pump, I would have had it before, when I had only
2 gallons in the tank.
I'll order two floats and two regular valves (not Gross jets) today.
Are these the only shut-off valves in the fuel system, or do the valves in the
pump (stock AC pump) act as shut-off valves as well ??
Also, during rebuild, I lined the tank with the kit from J.C. Whitney, the
additive resistant version.
Thanks again for the replies - I'm off for a couple days, travel for work,
