I don't know about either of those, but I don't like the idea of welding on
those hubs. You can peen the stock stud into place by using a center punch
and BFH, working your way around the edge of the stud. Even without the
peening, they're unlikely to come loose in use unless the lug nuts come
loose too. There's always Loctite, too.

I've heard it said that there is a standard American stud that is threaded
all the way down, you can simply screw them in from the back and cut them
off to length. Sorry I don't recall which car they're from, but they're
apparently a common item at racer supply houses.
