Ian beat me to it with my own correction: it's LRP that's being phased out, not
Four Star. And it's 1972, not 1974 to be tax exempt. I'll get back to you about
the "visible smoke" test changeover date...

By all accounts the octane rating of current UK Four Star fuel (average 99.7
RON) approximates that of the old Five Star (100 Octane) and should be good
news for owners of older Rovers and Aston Martins!
